This is a turtle chopstick rest made using "Umoregi Zaiku," a traditional craft of Sendai. "Umoregi Zaiku" is a traditional craft that has been practiced in Sendai since the feudal era. It uses natural wood that has been buried underground for about 5 million years as its material, and is a craft finished with hand-carved woodwork and urushi lacquer. It has a history of about 200 years as one of the oldest crafts in Sendai, and currently, Mr. Takashi Kotake is the one who carries on the production techniques. Set of 5, in a wooden box.
