This is a vintage item, made about 40 years ago, but it's a new, unused item that has been stored away. This item is a small dish made of Venetian glass, featuring "millefiori" design. "Millefiori" means "a thousand flowers" in Italian. It refers to a pattern resembling a flower garden or a garden in full bloom with countless flowers. This particular dish utilizes the Venetian glass technique, creating numerous flower-patterned parts in a "kintaro-ame" (striped candy) style from glass. These are arranged into the desired pattern by the craftsman and then fired twice, making it a very elaborate piece. This single dish is packed with approximately 260 flower-patterned "murrine"!
