TC-HELICON Voicetone create XT. This model is now discontinued. It's a compact pedal-type vocal effects unit, making it convenient to carry around. Includes the instruction manual (partially in Japanese), a universal AC adapter, and the original box. In addition to basic effects like reverb and delay, it has a built-in hardtune effect. This is similar to the extremely mechanical pitch correction effect you get when using autotune aggressively. I used it for this purpose. Pressing the Tone button combines three effects to make your vocal sound smooth and bright: 1. Adaptive Shape EQ (lowers unnecessary low frequencies while boosting high frequencies to match vocal characteristics) 2. Compression (gently suppresses volume peaks) 3. De-esser (suppresses sibilance, the annoying "s" sounds) Pressing the FX effect button gives you either hardtune or a transducer effect (a combination of megaphone and telephone voice filters and distortion).
