This is a gorgeous fukuro obi with a taiko pattern, featuring chrysanthemum and paulownia motifs woven with gold thread, inspired by the lacquer art of the Momoyama period, as seen in Kodai-ji maki-e. There are faint stains around 90cm from the end of the taredare (hanging part) and on the part that wraps around the body, but these are not visible when worn. There are also stains on the lining of the obi as shown in the image, but they do not affect the surface.
