This is a very fine, artist-made piece using Akama-suzuri, a natural stone specialty of Choshu Yamaguchi. Akama-suzuri are quite popular, and I have a customer who collects them. They said they wanted all the Akama suzuri, even the ones with unusual shapes or those that are not very practical and are for appreciation only, even quite small ones. At that time, I only had one very small piece, which I sent to them. However, I haven't been able to contact them since. Returning to the artwork, it is signed on the back: "[Akama-suzuri, Ryusen Masataka]". I am offering it at a reasonable price this time. What do you think?
