Purchased at Gallery Yukei, which is located next to the Tawaraya Ryokan in Kyoto. I used it to hold a porcelain soap bottle. I've also used it to hold accessories. It's a very cute item. Originally, it was a soap dish made to fit the size of the Tawaraya original soap, Savon de Tawaraya.
