I received this recently when I helped out at a shrine festival event. It's a lucky charm, a Year of the Dragon (Heisei 24, Mizunoe-Tatsu) towel, from the previous cycle. It's an Eto (Chinese Zodiac) towel made by Kondo Dyeing Factory in Asahikawa (with a sticker). The size is 34cm x 105cm, a bit long (maybe it's okay to display it). The towel material is like a regular towel or tenugui. There's a bookmark with an explanation about the Year of the Dragon (photos attached), which says, "In Feng Shui, the dragon is the ultimate symbol, the source of energy for all living things on earth, and is said to have immeasurable power. It wards off evil spirits and brings in air, making it a symbol of good fortune." It's a bookmark that boosts your luck and gives you energy. It would be great to give as a lucky charm to someone born in the Year of the Dragon, or you could keep it yourself and feel like it's a power towel. I opened the bag for the photos.
