It was used in a non-smoking/pet-free studio. Those who have used it in a studio setting may be aware, but there is a small amount of crackling in the input. I will spray contact cleaner just before handing it over, but the 1176 itself inevitably has issues with input crackling. Recording studios often send them in for maintenance. There is no problem using it once you've set the sound, so please purchase with the understanding of this.
