Okayama Castle, a symbol of Okayama, is also known as "Ujo" (Crow Castle). Ujo-bori and Ujo-nuri, which bear the name of this alias, are lacquerware crafts that are a specialty of Okayama Prefecture, dedicated to handmade, hand-carved, and hand-painted techniques. They are characterized by their unique strength and interesting carvings, with patterns of vegetables, fruits, flowers, and old tiles carved and colored with colored lacquer.
