Leakage can cause a darkened screen or vertical rolling. Replacing the capacitors will fix this. It can happen to any Super Famicom, so if you are going to buy one, choosing one with capacitor replacements is better for longevity than just one with confirmed operation. The board has been washed with alkaline detergent, dried, and after capacitor replacement, wiped with flux cleaner and coated with anti-rust agent. The cartridge reader slot has been removed from the board, and the terminals inside have been individually removed and wiped with anhydrous ethanol. The slot has had the old plating and rust removed, then re-plated, and the terminals are carefully inserted into the slot one by one before attaching it to the board.
