#FunREuse Taylor 214ce ES2 (Expression System 2) Electro-Acoustic Guitar This is a Taylor guitar purchased in 2016. Includes: ・Guitar ・Case ・Taylor genuine leather strap ・Clip tuner (battery replaced) The neck had a slight bow, so I adjusted the truss rod before listing. As expected from Taylor, it sounds great and is easy to play. The truss rod still has some room for adjustment. The top is Sitka spruce, and the back & sides are layered rosewood. The fingerboard is ebony, with some reddish hues that add character (Image 4). Compared to the 100 series with sapele sides & back, the rosewood specification is said to produce a thicker, more full-bodied, and pleasant sound. Expression System 2 (ES-2) Unlike conventional under-saddle piezo pickups, this innovative system has three independent sensors behind the saddle. It delivers a sound that fully captures the characteristics of the wood, setting it apart from the typical piezo sound. The circuit board inside the soundhole also has a PHASE switch to suppress feedback. The three bridge sensors can be adjusted with screws to fine-tune the sound. The control knobs are Volume/Treble/Bass. Each knob and the jack function without any crackling noise and are clear. When you plug in a cable, the power automatically turns ON (red LED in Image 6). I checked it with a mixer, and the sound is easy to use without a piezo feel. It uses a 9V battery, but the old, small battery compartment is a tight fit, so use a flathead screwdriver or similar to remove it (Image 20). You can buy a battery compartment that fits recent batteries from Taylor, so if you're interested, please look into it. There is some paint degradation on the lower side of the body (Image 8 right). It's not noticeable from the bottom, so please check the image. This seems unavoidable due to the satin finish that allows you to feel the wood. Includes a thick semi-hard case. The strap is deteriorated, with tears on the top (Image 19 bottom) and the side handle. Otherwise, it's in good condition, light, and clean. Shipping included!
