You can put tea leaves in, pour hot water, cover with the lid to steep, then slide the lid aside to drink. You can drink multiple infusions. Although small, I think they can be used in various ways. These were purchased a long time ago from a Chinese tea specialty store in Shinjuku. I don't see any scratches, but as they have been stored at home, please forgive any oversights.
