"Nanso Satomi Hakkenden" (The Chronicles of the Eight Dog Warriors of Satomi) - Yuho-do Bunko, Complete Set of 6 Volumes, Edited by Tetsuzo Tsukamoto ◤Hakkenden◢ A long novel written by Kyokutei Bakin over 28 years in the late Edo period, a late-period Yomihon (a type of novel). The themes of the story are the promotion of good and the punishment of evil, and karmic retribution. ▶"Yuho-do Bunko" A collection of classical Japanese literature. Includes works from the Heian period to the Edo period. A total of 121 volumes. Published from the 1st to the 4th year of the Taisho era (1912-1915). Tetsuzo Tsukamoto, a scholar of Japanese literature, served as the editor-in-chief, and Osamu Miura, the founder of Yuho-do, was also involved. The text is generally based on widely circulated editions, but many include concise annotations and end-of-volume indexes...◀ Due to the age of the books, there are scratches and stains on the covers, as well as yellowing and staining on the edges, endpapers, and title pages. There are also stains within the text, but I believe there are no tears or writings that would hinder reading. This year marks the 100th year of the Showa era... I hope that those who fully understand the aging of these old books, which have gone through a long period of time, will find them useful. Although the complete set of 121 volumes is not available, the Yuho-do Bunko collection is quite complete among my relatives' collections, and I plan to list them little by little in the future.
