Set of 8 chasen (tea whisks) for mizuyaya (water room), made in Takayama, Nara, Japan. I am selling a set of 8 chasen that were used in the mizuyaya. They have some bends and quirks, but there are no cracks and they are still usable. Seven are "kazuho" type and one is a "ara-ho" type for koicha (thick tea), suitable for those who prefer creamy froth or for the Urasenke school. Chasen are consumables, and although I have cleaned them after use in the mizuyaya, I have marked the condition as "slightly scratched or dirty." These are domestically produced Takayama chasen, which cost 4,000 to 5,000 yen each when new. How about these chasen for your home practice or for the mizuyaya (water room) at a tea ceremony? They would also be good for back-of-house use in restaurants or for tea ceremony experiences.
