It is also called "gousu" or "goushi." Originally, it was a small container consisting of a container and a lid. There are seasonal rules for using incense containers. During the furnace season (November to April), a ceramic incense container is used with kneaded incense. Also, during the brazier season (May to October), a lacquerware container is used with chopped incense wood. Metal and seashell incense containers can be used regardless of the season.
