This is a bokken (wooden sword) made of lignum vitae, boasting the world's strongest hardness and weight. It has a solid, weighty feel. In the finishing process, an abrasive was used to achieve an extreme shine. No varnish or other coatings are applied. It has a subtle fragrance. Also known as "green sandalwood," this is a masterpiece with a beautiful deep green color. The shape closely resembles a Japanese sword, a design pursued for many years. As it is handcrafted, please check the details in the photos. It is heavier and thicker than commercially available bokken, making it ideal for practice swings. Due to the Washington Convention, there are import restrictions, and this wood is difficult to obtain in the market. Because of its high hardness, processing is very difficult, and it takes a considerable amount of time to produce a single bokken. The color changes to a deep green under ultraviolet light, but this bokken has been exposed to a small amount of UV light to adjust the color. The aim is to let you appreciate the natural beauty of the lignum vitae grain. Due to import restrictions, I believe it will be impossible to obtain materials of this size in the future. It is too difficult to make, and I have no plans to make any more. This is one of the three highest-grade bokken I have ever made.
