One of the advantages is that they don't need to be screwed in to secure, allowing for quick and smooth fastening, which saves time when changing plates. Just a little note: Like all dumbbell clips, the diameter is made to be a tight fit, so there may be some resistance when pushing them onto a shaft with threads. Dumbbell clips (spring collars) are secured by the threads, so they may not be pushed in all the way, and the plates may wobble slightly, but it's usually not a concern. While you don't have to worry about them coming off during exercises like kickbacks, if you're concerned about them during movements where the dumbbell is above your head, like pullovers, we recommend using shaft rings. Dumbbell clips (spring collars) can be used to secure shaft rings.
