I was able to record from REC in, change tempo, and operate buttons like freeze, and confirmed the output through phones out. There are minor scratches and stains, but it is generally in good condition. I don't think it's a junk item, but I don't have detailed knowledge of its operation, and I'm not sure if it's fully functional.
