This is a traditional Kuba cloth from the Kuba people of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Africa. It features a characteristic Kuba cloth design, using raffia (palm fiber) to create a patchwork of geometric patterns. The hand-woven nature of the cloth gives it an uneven texture and rhythm, conveying the feel of a handcrafted item. The surface clearly shows the raised and recessed patterns, while the reverse side has a relatively flat finish. This piece is easy to use as a tapestry to hang on a wall, or as a rug or display item. As it is an old item, there are signs of aging such as fraying edges, color unevenness, and irregularities in the weave, but these do not detract from the overall atmosphere. *There is a small stain on one of the corners.
