This is the Waterman "Edson Sapphire Blue." It was a flagship model, but is now discontinued. The 18-karat gold nib and the eleven-nib design are lovely, and the blue barrel adds a touch of style. Other colors included Ruby Red and Emerald Green. The writing feel, which is described by "Mannenhitsu no Hyoka Heya" (a pen review site) as "Waterman's strength lies in its fine nibs," is firm with a smooth ink flow, allowing for stress-free writing. There were no particular issues with water filling (a converter is required separately). In image 6, there is a small area of color fading on the cap. The warranty card has the purchase date filled in by the previous owner, not the store. If repairs are needed, Waterman's Japanese distributors are located throughout the country and should be able to send the pen to the home country for service. After purchase, a cartridge was inserted and about a quarter of it was used. After that, it was too precious to use and was stored in a dark place. It is being offered for sale now as part of a collection release.
