This is a confectionery bowl by Kato Shun'ei, a master of Kosenjo-yaki. Shun'ei was originally from Seto and established a kiln in Okehazama, Owari, which led to the name Kosenjo-yaki. This piece features the O-fukai glaze characteristic of Seto ware and has an inscribed box by Jo'an (Yuji Sawada), known as the namer of the Six Ancient Kilns of Japan and a leading researcher of ancient pottery, making it an exceptional piece.
