Offered for sale to organize my collection. The mark on the foot rim is the character for "Tsutsue" (筒江) written in a cursive style within a double frame, and it was made at the Tsutsue kiln in Yamauchi-cho, Arita. This is a rare example of a piece marked with the kiln's name. It has a substantial weight in the hand. It is a so-called "Kurawanka-de" ware, but I believe it is an old Imari plate of a higher grade, with its celadon blue and the quality of the firing. Diameter: Approximately 19 cm Height: Approximately 4 cm There is an extremely thin hairline crack on the rim, but there are no cracks or chips, and I believe it is in generally good condition.
