Made in the USA, it is deadstock and has been re-dyed. Dyed by a professional dyeing specialist, not a simple home dyeing process. The color is black, but it's not pure black; it's a finish ranging from dark gray to a charcoal black. Each hat has a slightly different finish and texture, giving it a handmade feel. Therefore, consider this hat a one-of-a-kind item, as no two are exactly alike. Shrinkage has occurred due to the re-dyeing process, making the actual size about one size smaller than the original. The contract label has also been dyed, so the size information on the label is unreadable. Please understand this. Color-fastening treatment has been applied, so significant color fading is unlikely.
