Directed by Yuki Tanada and starring Mitsuki Takahata, this film is based on an original screenplay about a woman struggling to keep a real movie theater in Minamisoma, Fukushima Prefecture, alive. The Asahi-za, a movie theater in Fukushima Prefecture, has been a source of countless memories for local residents for nearly 100 years. However, unable to resist the trend of multiplex cinemas, the manager, Hozo Morita, finally makes a decision while showing a silent film on the screen. The moment Morita sets fire to the 35mm film he threw into a tin can, a young woman puts out the fire. The woman, who introduces herself as Riko Mogi, says she has come from Tokyo to revive the Asahi-za, which is on the verge of closing. However, the Asahi-za has already decided to close, and Morita, who has no options, does not intend to change his mind. Takahata plays the main character, Riko, and Kayoko Okubo and Kyotaro Yanagiya also appear in the film. This film is a prequel to the TV drama of the same title, which was directed by Yuki Tanada and starred Mitsuki Takahata, and was broadcast in October 2020 as a 50th-anniversary project of Fukushima Central Television.
