I had these geta (Japanese wooden clogs) custom-made at the Tokyo Daimaru department store, choosing the thong and the base. They cost about 12,000 yen. The wood is a dark color, so it doesn't stain easily, and it's a lightweight material. The reinforcement on the bottom is also solid. I've used them about once a year since I bought them, maybe five times in total. As you can see in the photos, there are some scratches from use, but I've taken good care of them and stored them carefully. I can't bear to throw them away. I'm selling them because I've gotten rid of my yukata (summer kimono).
