Mikuni Shrine is a Shinto shrine located in Sakai City, Fukui Prefecture. Its former rank was prefectural shrine. It enshrines Oyamakui-no-Mikoto (Sanno Gongen) and Emperor Keitai, and is known locally as (O-Sanno-san). The annual Mikuni Festival is a Fukui Prefectural Intangible Folk Cultural Property and is considered one of the three major festivals in the Hokuriku region. This offering includes a goshuin (red seal stamp) and a history booklet. The shrine enshrines Oyamakui-no-Mikoto and Emperor Keitai. In the solemn grounds, where large trees such as keyaki (Japanese zelkova) grow lushly, a prefecture-designated cultural property, a tachi (long sword) and a prayer document, and a life-size wooden, colorfully painted divine horse are enshrined. The Mikuni Festival, where giant warrior dolls parade through the town, is held every May.
