Born in Iga. His real name was Munefusa, and his other names were Tosei, Hakusendo, Bashoan, and Furabo. He studied the Teimon school under Kitamura Kigin, and after going to Edo, he was influenced by the Danrin school. Later, through several journeys, he established the Shofu style, which added high literary quality to haikai. He died in Osaka during a journey in Genroku 7 (1694) at the age of 51. 【Kyokusui Suganuma】1660-1717 A samurai and haiku poet of the early to mid-Edo period. Born in Manji 3. A retainer of the Zeze domain in Omi (Shiga Prefecture). A disciple of Matsuo Basho. He provided the Genjuan for Basho, who visited Zeze in Genroku 3. He left a sangin (three-verse poem) in "Hisago" with Basho and Hamada Shado. In Kyoho 2, he killed a chief retainer who committed an injustice and committed suicide. Age 58. His son Naiki also committed seppuku, and his wife became a nun and was called Hakyoni. His real name was Sadatsune. His common name was Geki.
