Thank you very much for viewing. I am a gagaku (Japanese court music) hichiriki player with over 50 years of experience, and I create over a thousand high-quality reeds annually. These reeds are made from high-quality reeds harvested from Udo, carefully selected and dried in the shade for about 1.5 to 2 years. They are then smoked over a sunken hearth (irori) for over 10 years, resulting in reeds that are both durable and of the highest quality, arguably the best available. Please refer to past reviews of my reeds for further understanding. These reeds are finished with great care, allowing for comfortable playing. They are generally designed to fit any hichiriki, including those with plastic tubes. However, I can accommodate requests for thicker or thinner reeds. While these reeds are finished to be easily playable even for beginners and women, please be aware that they do require a firm breath to produce a sound. To achieve a good tone, you must put effort into blowing. The price of a single reed is somewhat high, but I offer returns and exchanges if you are not satisfied.
