Black Magic M-66 VHS Video Masamune Shirow A military helicopter crashes. Two new anti-personnel autonomous infantry units, the M-66, which were being transported, begin to move and attack people. A special military unit secretly attempts to recover them and captures one that self-destructs in the suburbs, but the other escapes. Afterwards, it is discovered that the M-66's test program still has data pre-entered with the developer's granddaughter, Ferris, as the target. The M-66 targets her life, and defeats the soldiers who pursue it. Seibel, a female journalist pursuing the incident for a scoop, ends up protecting Ferris from the M-66. "Black Magic M-66" is an OVA based on the short story "BOOBY TRAP" from Masamune Shirow's early work collection, "Black Magic." It was released by Emotion on June 28, 1987. The "M-66" in the title refers to an autonomous mobile infantry unit.
