This is a decorative plate made of Sae-e pottery, featuring a quote by the literary master Sanetomi Mushanokoji, "There is no path that brings me to life other than this path; I walk this path," prominently displayed against a backdrop of mountains towering over a rural landscape. While several plates with similar designs and text have been confirmed, the detailed coloring of the landscape depicted below varies on each, and considering the inscription "Unauthorized reproduction prohibited, Mushanokoji" on the backstamp, it is possible they are hand-painted. Diameter: 26.5 cm. A plate stand is included (see 5th photo). The plate stand used in the first photo is for display purposes only and is not included. This item was discovered during a clean-out of my parents' home. As the box and tissue paper were also present, it is believed to be unused (listed as "near unused" due to lack of confirmation).
