This is an offering for a Ryukyu musical instrument, the sanshin. The neck material is high-quality, southern-grown ebony (kamagon). It's a Makabe style, with black lacquer finish, and genuine hide stretched over both faces (7-part stretch, mid-low range sound). It was made in the Showa 40s (1965-1974), maker unknown (possibly artisan Tokeshi of Buate). There are two areas on the dove's breast with repaired paint (see images). There are no noticeable scratches or chips, and it appears to be in very good condition with no warping or twisting. Includes a used cow horn pick, spare strings, a bamboo horse, and a used hard case.
