This is a brand new fukuro obi (formal obi) purchased at Shinjuku Takashimaya. I am selling this as I wore a different obi and did not use this one. It is a Nishijin-ori obi from "Sanbi," a long-established Japanese clothing store. It is a beautiful obi with a glossy white background and round patterns (shippo patterns) in pink, purple, blue, and green. The color in the second photo is the closest to the actual obi. It includes a range of basic colors, making it very easy to coordinate, and the fabric is sturdy, supple, and easy to tie. It is very convenient to have one. As it is a woven obi, it is of high formality and can be worn with confidence to formal occasions, invitations, tea ceremonies, theater performances, and friends' weddings, where formal attire or dresses are required. It can be widely used with kimono other than everyday wear, such as iromuji (single-colored kimono), tsukesage (semi-formal kimono), homongi (visiting kimono), and elegant komon (small-patterned kimono). Although gold thread is used, it is not overly sparkly, making it elegant. It can be used for a long time by women from their teens to adulthood.
