The fabric has a soft, drapey feel that is comfortable. I mainly wore it in the summer, but it might be okay for spring too. It has elastic at the waist and loops on both sides for a belt. I recall it came with a ribbon-like belt made of the same fabric, but I haven't used it, so it's no longer with me.
