This is a suzuri (inkstone) that belonged to my mother-in-law, whose hobby was calligraphy. It was tucked away in the back of a shelf. The outer box is damaged, and the calligraphy on it is so masterful that I can't read it. I've entered what I could make out, but it may not be accurate. The box containing the inkstone was carefully stored, so it's in good condition. The cloth wrapping it shows considerable age. The inkstone case is 17 x 24 cm. The inkstone itself is about 7 x 13 cm (at its widest point). If you don't mind the damaged outer box, would you be interested? Also, "suzuri" (inkstone) is written in white on the side of the outer box. For those who understand the condition... I think it's a pretty good piece... but since I don't do calligraphy, I'd like to pass it on to someone who will cherish it.
