I purchased this last week (new). I bought it to grind food for a high-senior large breed dog. However, I had to grind it in multiple batches, and after using it twice, I gave up. It's very convenient for small dogs' small portions of food, and you can grind it to your liking without any problems, as shown in the picture on the box. I haven't used the spare cup. I've only ground food twice, so it's still practically new. *With instruction manual I have washed the cups, but I have wiped the blades on the main unit. *Please refrain from purchasing if you are concerned about any remaining small pieces of food.
