In 1953, Sir Edmund Hillary successfully climbed Mount Everest. This teddy bear was released by Merrythought to commemorate the 40th anniversary of that event. It is a limited edition bear holding a climbing ice axe and the British flag. It was sold in 1992. There are a few stains on the bottom of the presentation box. This is a new item that we acquired at the time. We have forgotten the original suggested retail price.
