Material: Fabric (bleached cotton, 100% cotton) Size: Approximately 32-34cm square Uses Olympus sashiko thread. I drew the design myself on the bleached cotton and made it. There are no knots; the beginning and end of the stitching are backstitched, and the thread is joined with overlapping stitches. It has been washed to remove the design and ironed. Sashiko cloths are good for dust covers and placemats, but I especially like the texture and feel of the stitched areas when used for wiping dishes or the kitchen counter.
