【Rare, Handwritten Model Number】 Mele Ukulele Includes Case ■Product Condition This is a rare Mele ukulele with an ALL Solid Koa body, manufactured and sold in Hawaii. It has a great sound for its body size and is a pleasure to play. Due to age, the wood of both the top and back has warped inward, creating unevenness between areas with and without bracing. Whether this is considered a "character" is subjective, but the dryness of the wood likely affects the tone, so it can be viewed positively. As a result of the above, there is a scratch below the bridge on the top (Photos 6 & 7). There are surface cracks that do not appear to reach the inside, but they are thought to be caused by the wood warping due to dryness. There is no buzzing or other issues caused by this scratch. A strap pin has been added (Photos 7 & 9). This is also securely attached and is not believed to affect the sound output. I have wiped it down with orange oil and checked its condition. While I have done my best, as this is a personal inspection, there may be oversights. Also, as this is a used item, those seeking perfection should refrain from purchasing to avoid unnecessary trouble. Based on the label, I have determined that this is a series sold only in Hawaii. However, there is a handwritten addition of "YKK-S-99-075," the meaning of which is unclear. My understanding is that model numbers are not typically listed on this type of label, and searching for the above number did not yield any ukulele results.
