These reed tongues are made from high-quality reeds from Udono, carefully selected and dried in the shade for about 1.5 to 2 years. They are then smoked over an irori (sunken hearth) for over 10 years, resulting in a reed of the highest quality, boasting both superior sound and durability. Furthermore, I have used the finest materials, including the cap, seme (binding), and Japanese paper, all of which I have perfected over many years. They generally fit any hichiriki, including those with plastic tubes, but this particular reed is slightly thinner. If you prefer a thicker or thinner reed, please let me know when ordering, and I will accommodate your request. While I finish the reeds so that even beginners and women can easily produce a sound, please be aware that they will not sound with a light or weak breath. As my teacher in the music ensemble says, "To produce a good sound and tone, it is essential to blow with all your might..." The price of a single reed is a bit high, but if you are not satisfied, I will handle returns and exchanges without any issues.
