I bought it to dress my child in this winter when they were a few months old, but they grew too big and quickly outgrew it. The hood is not removable. The fabric is sturdy, and since it hasn't been worn many times, there is almost no fading. However, there appears to be a spot on the chest, which is shown in the fourth photo.
