This is the Japanese model, and a genuine product. It comes with a Japanese instruction manual. I have been using it for about a year. I disposed of the drool cover and sleep curtain for size 6.7 as they were used. I cannot answer detailed questions about frequency of use beyond what is stated. There is some pilling and color fading due to rubbing in places. There are no other noticeable scratches or stains, but this is based on my personal assessment.
