This is a Karatara, a type of sake vessel for awamori (Okinawan liquor), made from Yachimun (pottery) from Okinawa. The handle is designed with a dragon. The Okinawan prefectural flower, the Deigo, is designed on both sides. I think it would also be good for Japanese sake. I think it would also be nice to display it with a single flower in it. It has been stored unused. There are no noticeable stains, but it has been stored by a private individual, so please understand before purchasing. Okinawa Yachimun is handmade, so there may be color unevenness, roughness, and swelling in the glaze.
