I washed it once immediately after purchase, but I've only tried it on and haven't worn it outside. The fabric is thick and not flimsy. It's see-through when held up to the light, but it's not see-through when worn normally. It's not 100% linen, but personally, I don't think it looks overly synthetic or cheap. There are no unpleasant odors, and I think the quality is good.
