It's been used for many years, so it has its share of scratches. There are many small scratches on the white base section of the rod. The tip has probably been shortened, but only slightly, I think. Please judge from the photos. It's an old rod, but its performance hasn't changed. You can use a long leader with it. It's a famous Shimano rod.
