This is a traditional tsumugi kimono with a gorgeous floral pattern on a black background. Mud dyeing is a representative dyeing technique of Amami Oshima Tsumugi. The fabric is soaked in a decoction of Rhaphiolepis indica, and then reacted with mud containing iron unique to Amami Oshima, creating a deep black color. It's a lovely black color. It has a mature, black atmosphere.
