I deconstructed a Meisen kimono and made a long flared skirt. The original kimono is shown in (photos 14, 15, 16). It showed no signs of wear and was in very good condition. There are seams where the fabric was joined to adjust the length (photos 12, 13, center). Please check these. Therefore, the skirt is priced lower than skirt 168. Meisen fabric may fade when washed with water, so after deconstructing the kimono, I only disinfected it with a high-temperature iron. I put three long tucks in the front and back to reduce the volume. Although there is plenty of gathering, the tucks make the waist and hips look neat. The base color is a light moss green. The patterns in dark brown, beige, and ocher look like camouflage. Because it's Meisen, the fabric is thin, but it has a wonderful color that you'll want to wear in the fall and winter. It has a moderate luster and the crispness characteristic of Meisen. The fabric is supple and has a gentle feel. Silk fabric is expensive, so I don't think I'll be able to buy fabric and make it. It's difficult to deconstruct old clothes, but it's wonderful to be able to enjoy the feel of silk in everyday life. It's also a good point that you can enjoy the colors and combinations unique to Japan. I enjoy sewing with straight stitches only. I use old kimonos, obi, and furoshiki made of tsumugi, Meisen, komon, etc., and remake them. Please consider this item if you understand that there may be remaining threads, small holes, stains from used items, distortions, double stitching, etc. ✳︎Please avoid washing as much as possible, and after wearing, hang it on a hanger and let it breathe. ✳︎Everything except the skirt is for photography purposes. ✳︎There is no lining.
