This design prevents your back from being exposed when bending forward, such as when riding a bicycle. It's also convenient to have inner pockets on both sides near the chest. A portion of the inside of the hood is deteriorated (see photos 5 and 6). In my amateur opinion, there are no other noticeable stains, and the fabric has a moderate firmness, making it a sturdy construction that I think can still be used for a long time. I will fold it for shipping, so please forgive any creases or wrinkles.
