Approximately 25-27cm in diameter. England MINTON / Old Minton Denmark series Dinner plate This "Denmark" pattern features a floral motif and appears to have been manufactured around 1860. It is an octagonal majolica ware. The ink, a combination of vermilion and orange, is characteristic, contrasting with the creamy white of the earthenware. The backstamp shows the words "MINTONS" and "DENMARK," and this particular mark may have been used when Minton supplied goods to the Parisian porcelain shop "La maison Toy." Although it is also described as British-style decoration, the impression at first glance is reminiscent of the Middle Eastern world. There is one repaired crack (chip). There are areas where staining has entered the crazing. The back has a lot of staining and scratches. Please check the photos for details. This is a pattern that doesn't come up very often.
