◆ Extremely Rare, Beautiful Condition, Taisho Era ◆ Samurai Shokai Yokohama, November 11, 1918, Commemorative Silver Medal for the End (Victory) of World War I, "FIAT JUSTITIA," Diameter 2.7cm, Thickness 2.6mm ◆ This is a very rare medal that is not often seen. I purchased it at an antique shop in Yokohama around 1990. It came from an old house near the former Kita Elementary School in Yamate, Yokohama. This silver medal was created by Samurai Shokai Yokohama to commemorate the end (victory) of World War I on November 11, 1918. The front reads "Nov. 11 VICTORY 1918 YOKOHAMA," and the back reads "FIAT JUSTITIA." "FIAT JUSTITIA" means "Let justice be done." The medal clasp is also engraved with "SAMURAI SHYOKAI" and "YOKOHAMA." ◆ 【Condition】 Although it shows its age, it is in beautiful condition with no particular damage. (Please judge from the photos.) ◆ Material: Although there is no engraving on the metal part of the medal, I believe it is made of silver based on its texture. ◆ Size (circular metal part): Diameter 2.7cm, Thickness 2.6mm. ◆ 【About Samurai Shokai】 A representative antique shop in Yokohama. It was opened by Yozo Nomura in December 1894 (Meiji 27). Its trademark was its bright red exterior and a golden eagle on the tower. The store was destroyed in the Great Kanto Earthquake but was rebuilt, and in the early Showa era, it handled silk products in addition to antiques. Type...Japanese Army
