Studied design under Takeuchi Seihō. Bronze medal at the Tokyo Taisho Exposition in 1914. Bronze medal at the Taiwan Industrial Exhibition in 1916. Gold prize at the Peace Exposition in 1922. Second prize at the Kumamoto City Domestic Industrial Exhibition in 1925. Exhibited at the Teikoku Bijutsu-in Exhibition from 1931, selected 4 times. Judge at the Chosen Art Exhibition (Crafts Division) from 1935 to 1937. Exhibited at the Ministry of Education Art Exhibition in 1937, selected 6 times. Qualified as a Ministry of Education Art Preservationist in 1937. Exhibited at the Nitten (Japan Fine Arts Exhibition) 8 times from 1948 to 1956 (3 times as a commissioned entry). Selected for a special prize in 1948. Exhibited at the Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition from 1957 to 1972, a regular member of the Japan Kogei Association. Inspector of the Japan Traditional Crafts Association from 1971 to 1972. Passed away in 1973.
